About NGDC Production Photography
This project for DGDC required a combination of standard product shots and creative visuals, with a strong emphasis on precision and consistency. The client requested a modern, fashion-forward aesthetic tailored to elevate their catalog and support sales.
Technically, jewelry photography presents unique challenges especially when dealing with reflective surfaces, intricate metalwork, and diamonds. Each item required careful lighting to reduce unwanted glare while also introducing controlled, intentional reflections that enhance the brilliance and texture of the pieces.
To ensure full focus and sharpness throughout each product, I often captured 8–10 images of a single item using varied focus points. These were later stacked and composited in Photoshop to achieve a final image where the entire piece remained crisp and defined. Post-production was particularly time-intensive, as each photo needed meticulous retouching to control reflections and refine the visual impact without compromising realism.
The final result was a cohesive set of high-quality images that balanced technical clarity with visual elegance—perfectly aligned with the brand's marketing goals.
